It seems as if all 14 of you are now signed up to this blog under their own name. This E-Blogger program may not be as user-friendly as it should be, but it seems you've mastered it now.
When you want to post yourself (as opposed to just reply and comment on a post), you may have to click on the E-Blogger icon in the upper left corner of the screen. That's what I just did. Then when you are done typing, you need to click on the orange Publish button on the upper right of your screen.

What made you select this course as one of your up to six choices for College Colloquium?
For example, do you have a special interest or prior expertise in film or in the Greeks and Romans? Have you actually seen some of the movies we'll discuss this semester?
I myself watched many of these movies as a child on German TV. Back then, I just enjoyed the spectacle and epic scale of these movies. Later, as I studied Latin and Greek and learned more and more about the actual ancient world, I got a bit disenchanted with them because I now notice how inaccurate the movies' representation of history usually is. On the other hand, though, these movies weren't meant to be documentaries, but to offer entertainment, and in that respect, they definitely succeed, as I hope you'll find too.
